 ASVSA's mission is to improve the quality of avian care, particularly in Alaska. To do this we provide assistance to veterinarians and work to bring local veterinarians and clients together. We recommend that you develop a working relationship with a local avian veterinarian. Phone consults are available to help your veterinarian. Records and x-rays can be sent by e-mail and we can discuss your bird's case over the phone. Please note that phone consultations should be conducted through your veterinarian. Federal law prohibits prescribing medications without an established, direct working relationship with the bird and owner.
Your veterinarian can contact Dr. Ford at vet@alaskabirddoc.com or call at 360-271-7000. He can also travel to your town if airfare is provided or you can bring your bird to Bird and Exotic Clinic of Seattle and consult with us there.
